Kaku Japanese Watch Face

WabiFace Kaku brings the quiet of a single brush stroke to your Wear OS smartwatch.

🖌 THE UNFINISHED SQUARE
The dial carries one dry sumi gesture: a square drawn with three sides, its right flank left open. That opening is not a mistake. The square is a picture frame, and the time lives inside it.

🕐 TWO LAYOUTS, ONE FACE
Digital sets the hour over the minute inside the frame, with AM/PM and the seconds in a narrow column beside them - the way Japanese sets type. Analog replaces them with baton hands and a vermilion seconds needle. Switch between them in the settings; both keep the same artwork.

🎨 SIX DYED PAPERS
Sumi Black, Kinari, Silver, Iron Blue, Chestnut and Sage. Four dark papers and two light, each with its own washi fibre and crack texture. On the dark four the brush inverts to ivory ink, so the square reads on every one of them. Ships on Sumi Black.

⌚ COMPLICATIONS
Three on the dial at once, on washi paper discs cut from the artwork itself.
- Digital: one beside the time, one upper right, one below
- Analog: one inside the frame, one upper right, one below
Four slots are offered in the editor because the layouts place them differently - whichever layout you are on, three of them are showing. Choose Large, Medium, Small or Off, and any of five inks.

⏱ SECONDS, OR NOT
One switch turns the seconds off - the numeral in digital, the needle in analog.

🌙 ALWAYS-ON DISPLAY
A black plate with dim ivory markers, and the time in outline. Built to the always-on brightness rules rather than dimmed artwork.
